Call of Duty is one of the most popular and successful game franchises out there, as evidenced by its large player base and the title being the highest-selling game for almost 15 years. The dedicated live-service multiplayer game Warzone is heavily played and finally landed on smartphones on March 21 this year after multiple delays.

However, it seems like the game isn’t doing well with smartphone gamers, as the reported revenue of the title is much less compared to CODM, indicating that the franchise that was once equivalent to the MCU in the gaming industry has lost its touch and is not making money anymore.

PocketGamer.biz and AppMagic have reported that CODW Mobile has generated $1.4 million in its first four days after the global launch on March 21. According to the data estimates by AppMagic, if the data for March 20 is considered as the game was available early in some regions, it has collected $200k extra.

This brings the total revenue of the game to $1.6 million in five days. The game has generated $2.2 million in lifetime revenue to the date of data shared since it was first soft-launched in certain regions in December 2022. The game has earned the most in the United States, which accounts for 47% of spending or $1.1 million in revenue.

The second largest spend is from Chile at $202,500, which makes up 9% of the game’s revenue. Australia and Germany are both in third place in terms of spending, at 8% of total revenue each, or nearly $360,000 between the two countries. While the numbers may make the game seem like a financial success, it is not, as CODM generated $4.2 million in the first 4 days when it was launched.

The game went on to amass nearly $17.7 million in player spending and was downloaded more than 100 million times in just a week after launch. This shows that the game is struggling despite being pre-registered by more than 50 million pre-registrations, with players expecting a grand release, but they were welcomed with a game that was nothing but a technical mess.

The Game Has Been Review Bombed Because of Its Technical Issues

The game has less revenue than CODM in the four days and also has been subject to several issues at launch.

Warzone Mobile launch did not go as well as developers would have hoped, as the game experienced several technical issues that made it unplayable for many, even on high-end devices. Players reported that they were unable to log in, which could be because a large number of players were trying to enter the game, but the developers should have optimized the game better.

Several players were also experiencing low FPS and other issues that hindered a smooth experience. All this led to the game being review-bombed on the Play Store and App Store.

The developer has released an update to fix the game, but it remains to be seen how long it will take to sort out all the problems after the disastrous launch. What are your thoughts about the game’s revenue? Are you playing Warzone Mobile? Let us know in the comments.
