Call of Duty Mobile was a boon to all the CoD fans who couldn’t afford to play the games with a low-spec PC at their disposal. Thanks to Activision and TiMi, they worked their way around to bring the popular franchise to mobile phones in October 2019. In the first month, it became the biggest game launch in mobile gaming history.

In recent years, the developers have worked their fingers to the bone to shine its edges to stand tall amid others in the mobile battle royale arena. Not to say it has failed, but it has become crowded in there. Sure fans want a lot of content, but going after quantity over quality may have a bad effect on the long term success of the project.

The Old CoD Mobile Had Different Vibes

In the five years since it launched, a robust community has developed around Call of Duty Mobile as they can get the ultimate virtual military experience on their phones. But many of them have come across issues ranging from technical aspects to its content.

For a start, CoDM guns back in 2019 were balanced and everyone had a fair chance of getting kills in the game. The addition of weapons like Fennec and MX9 have killed all the fun, and don’t even get started on melee abusers.

Despite developers’ promise of adding new content, they said in a recent post that the game would lose a couple of maps including Alcatraz and Shoot House. This sure has hurt some fans. As Warzone Mobile is being rolled out across the globe, many are worried about the future of the title.

Though recently, CoDM started adding weapons with similar reload animations as Warzone. It felt like a mesh of old and new Call of Duty games. On top of that, storage is becoming another big issue for the game. It once was playable with only around 2GB on a device. However, the sheer amount of content added since has now grown the game into a giant 20GB download.

Is the Time Up For Call of Duty Mobile?

If this is the end of CoDM, it cannot be said for sure, but the rumor is that the game will eventually be “phased out over time” by Warzone Mobile. The news comes as Microsoft responded to the United Kingdom’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) following their Activision deal that raised several concerns among the regulators last year.

Warzone Mobile is already keeping fans happy by honoring their demands. Unlike the console versions where players are complaining about a plethora of issues every coming day. The cherry on the top would be the developers closing the gates for hackers, at least for this game. The game has been released globally, but they are rolling it out slowly in different regions. Initially, some players experienced immense heating in even some high-end devices alongside some other issues.
