Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players were getting rid of the hackers, taking a sigh of relief, and then their progression was reset to Rank 1. Some might have thought this could be something related to those cheaters, but thankfully it is a technical glitch. Although, it could be nerve-wracking for anyone to see their hard work going back to square one.
The developers are working on it but it appears like it has affected the game’s skill-based matchmaking (SBMM). The feature allows players to match with opponents having near similar ranks in multiplayer, ensuring the gamers have a fair game against others.
It’s Ground Zero In Warzone
The developers took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to shed light on the situation. The post reads,
We’re working on a fix for a known issue that appeared overnight that is preventing progress from being tracked in various areas of the game including but not limited to events, challenges, Battle Pass, and SR. Players may also notice unusual behavior related to account level and loadouts.
It has reached nearly three Million views at the time of writing. Additionally, players were seen adding their requests to the post in the comments. A user dubbed kaden posted a long list of issues that emphasized banning the hackers. In a nutshell, hackers have made the player’s experience a mess if past complaints are taken into account.
Another user called Jason Monk claimed that he reached “level 300” but the progress was reset to 1. “Doesn’t matter which loadout I select I end up with the same weapons,” he wrote. Without a shadow of a doubt, it is an annoying situation for whoever has encountered the game following the glitch.
Glitches Are Making Call of Duty Players Hard to Keep Up
Last month, Call of Duty brought in some changes with the Season 1 Reloaded update. However, it proved to be doing more harm than good to the game at the time. Many complained that they weren’t able to get past CoD’s main menu. Interestingly, they found a way to get past the glitch.
MW3 has already failed to become a success it should have been given the history of Call of Duty and these glitches are just adding to players’ frustration. Just recently, they took a sigh of relief as the Ricochet Team updated that they have banned 6,000 hackers in the game.
For now, let’s just hope the current issue is resolved as fast as the developers can so the players get their hard-earned levels back.
