A new weekly challenge in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is introducing a gun part that can easily mutilate a body part. However one must not expect flying limbs all over the game unless zombies invade. Fans still are waiting for CoD Zombies which will arrive during the mid-season. Although they were not happy about it being excluded during the season’s launch.
In a promise to bring a colossal amount of content, fans are getting four new weapons including a BP50 assault rifle, a RAM-9 submachine gun, an SOA Subverter battle rifle, and a melee weapon dubbed Soulrender. Dubbed JAK Limb Ripper, the new chainsaw attachment resonates with Gears of War‘s Mark 2 Lancer assault rifle and can be obtained during the weekly challenge.
Hell is Unleashed With This New Call of Duty Attachment
Sledgehammer Games took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to showcase the Gears of War-like attachment. “The JAK Limb Ripper is an underbarrel chainsaw that makes quick and messy work of anyone foolish enough to stand in your way,” they wrote. Nonetheless, the comments section was more about persisting in-game bugs than the new Aftermarket Part.
Mark 2 Lancer in Gears of War is a successor to the Mark 1 model, also known as the Retro Lancer, which also had a blade-type bayonet attached to it. JAK Limb Ripper is a go-to attachment for quick kills but it does not show any animation similar to the Lancer. Furthermore, a YouTuber going by the name RaidAway called the attachment “broken“. The attachment looks great with guns but it seems it isn’t really interesting when it comes to using it.
Aftermarket Parts was announced in October 2023 which can be unlocked by completing in-game challenges after reaching the max level of a gun. Currently, there are nearly 20 such attachments available in the game with the Broodmother .45 Kit, JAK Nightshed Rifle Kit, and The Ettin among the most damage-inducing attachments in the armory.
Both The Shooters Are Going Open World
Recently, Call of Duty introduced open combat missions in its campaigns that did not strike the fans much. Additionally, rumors are that the upcoming CoD game which is reportedly titled Black Ops: Gulf War will share the same feature in the game. Gears of War might be following the same path in the next installment.
Open combat missions did not bring anything unique to the game’s persona as it was simply Warzone mechanics incorporated in the campaign. When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone arrived in 2019, it did feel different. The movement, attention to detail, and more were developed like never seen in a game before.
Diverting from the roots could do worse than better for both, Gears of War and Call of Duty. However, installments of both the games are yet to come out so fans can focus on the present.
