Throughout her almost two-decade-long career, the now 51-year-old actress ruled the hearts of people worldwide. But then she decided to quit acting once and for all to focus more on her family, leaving her fans wanting more from her, devastated.
However, now it seems she is all set to conquer Hollywood once again with her irresistible charms. According to recent reports, Diaz is apparently all set to return to the big screen in a dark comedy directed and starred in by Jonah Hill, and with some of the other currently raging hotshots, at that: Keanu Reeves and fans’ very own favorite heartthrob, Matt Bomer!
Cameron Diaz Reportedly Making Her Comeback in Upcoming Dark Comedy
As per exclusive reports by Deadline, Diaz is in final negotiations for her return to the big screens in a film directed (and starred in) by Hill. This comes after her long, long break of leaving the cinemas to focus more on her family and her baby girl, Raddix Madden.
The movie she will be returning to the big screens in is the dark comedy Outcome, from Apple Studios. The storyline is helmed by Jonah Hill and Ezra Woods, and the film would reportedly be produced by Matt Dines, Ali Goodwin, and Hill under Strong Baby Production.
This Cameron Diaz film reportedly follows the story of a damaged Hollywood star named Reef, who decides to dive back deep into his past to “confront his demons and make amends” after he gets extorted because of the same through an evasive video clip.
Further reports by Deadline reveal that Keanu Reeves has also joined the ensemble cast in the lead role of Reef, while Fellow Travelers hotshot Matt Bomer is also all set to co-star opposite Hill, Reeves, and Diaz in the movie.
Cameron Diaz has One More Movie Lined up for her Return
While reports about her return through Outcome still stand, Cameron Diaz has another movie lined up before that in which she would return to the big screen after her nearly decade-long break. This one pairs her with Jamie Foxx.
As per Netflix Tudum, the duo, who previously co-starred in Any Given Sunday and Annie, would be sharing the screen once again for Back in Action, an upcoming Netflix film. This one stars Diaz and Foxx as former CIA spies and parents, who “find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.”
The movie would also star Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights, Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction, Andrew Scott from All of Us Strangers, Jamie Demetriou from Barbie, McKenna Roberts from Skyscraper, and Rylan Jackson from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Moreover, this film would be directed by Seth Gordon, the helmer of Baywatch, and would be made out of a script written by him and Brendan O’Brien. No release date has been given to the film as of this writing, the only reports are that it will be released later this year.
For what it’s worth, so far, things are looking beyond exceptional for the fan-favorite Cameron Diaz, who is all set to conquer Hollywood once again through her return with an inevitably glorious swag!
