The DC Vs. Marvel war has been raging since the dawn of comic books. The two goliaths of the industry have given the population such an iconic and entertaining roster of superhuman beings that none can help but compare them to one another, and why wouldn’t they? Some of the most iconic superheroes from these publications have a high chance to have a similar counterpart in the others. With so much overlap of similar characteristics, it can become hard to distinguish which one is copying the other.

And coming to this in modern times, it seems that the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts movie might reignite this debate with new intensity.

With new rumors now surfacing for the upcoming film, it seems like the MCU fandom would be introduced to Hyperion, who as some of the hardcore DC fans say, is nothing more than a cheap copy and an altered version of Superman.

There have been several occasions when fans of both comic book publishers have spotted similarities between superheroes from these universes. But undoubtedly, Marvel has been notorious in this department as it has tried time and time again to create its own version of the most popular superhero in the world, which happens to be DC Comics’ Superman. Marvel has created a lot of counterparts like Sentry, and also brought some of them into the big screen like Thor, and more recently, Ikaris in Eternals.

But after these attempts, it seems like Marvel is all set to bring the dark horse into the MCU in Thunderbolts. According to a recent Tweet by Beyond The Trailer’s Grace Randolph, the upcoming film is all set to bring the evil version of Superman’s Marvel counterpart to the big screen in the form of Hyperion.

This news sits well with MCU fans who were expecting the introduction of Hyperion into the mainstream, but DC fans on the other hand are furious about Marvel’s attempts to bring this trope back again and again. They have taken to Twitter to let Marvel know that this is getting old, and frankly, a little desperate of them.

Thunderbolts will be the next team of superheroes that will take on the threats that the world will face in the future. in the upcoming film, it has been theorized that this team is being assembled by CIA chief Val de Fontainne and will be kept under the leadership of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, hence the name. If the inclusion of Hyperion does take place, then he could be the main antagonist of the film.
