Following the axing of Henry Cavill from the role of Superman, fans were blasting the DC studios and James Gunn for their decision. Fans implore James Gunn to bring back Henry Cavill as Apollo in the DCU

With James Gunn confirming that they are still discussing potential roles for Henry Cavill in the new DCU, fans have already expressed the perfect role for Cavill’s return to the DCU.

And following DC’s upcoming project The Authority, based on Wildstorm’s twisted team of heroes, fans are imploring the studios to cast Henry Cavill in the role of Apollo, aka Wildstorm’s Superman. And considering that Midnighter and Apollo are the most popular characters of The Authority, fans are assured that Apollo is the perfect role to mark Cavill’s return to the DC universe.

Henry Cavill’s return to DCU is uncertain

Even though James Gunn has expressed that they are currently discussing different roles with the Man of Steel actor to portray in DCU, it might be a little far-fetched to assume Cavill in the role of Apollo. After his axing from both of his iconic roles, the actor is once again attached to another one of his passion projects involving, Warhammer 40k, a live-action adaptation of the popular game.

And considering that the actor is also reportedly one of the executive producers along with starring at its forefront, it might be a while (if ever) before we witness Cavill in the realms of DC again.

No release date for The Authority has been made official.
