In the recently finished Galaxycon, Charlie Cox, speaking on a panel, reiterated Karen Page’s importance to his character Matt Murdock. When asked about the romantic interests of the superhero Daredevil, Cox specifically mentioned Page’s name. This set her apart slightly from the other women in his life, sparking some interest in fans. However, with reports of Deborah Ann Woll not returning to play Karen Page for the next Daredevil reboot, fans seem a bit conflicted.

Charlie Cox’s fondness for Karen Page

Hired as the first employee of Nelson and Murdock Law Firm, it seemed like Page and Murdock were meant to be since the moment they first met. Daredevil came in to save her in disguise numerous times over the years throughout their romantic journey. Even after she seemed to fall off the deep end of drug addiction, going so far as to sell Murdock’s secret, the superhero still seemed fond of her.

So Cox’s amused reply, “I think that if you’re a true Daredevil fan – maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know – I feel like there’s probably no escaping the fact that there’s only one Karen Page” to a question about the women in Murdock’s life intrigued the fans. Mostly as the series’ and comics’ storylines follow quite different paths and this portrays Charlie Cox’s own interest in the source material.

Charlie Cox hints at new adventures for Daredevil: Born Again

Unfortunately for fans, it seems that Deborah Ann Woll who brought to life Page’s character in the series will not be returning for Daredevil: Born Again. The Netflix series took quite a different path from the storyline of the original comics, on which Cox’s comment was partially based. In the series, the pair ended things and Page resigned from Nelson and Murdock in Season 2 after Elektra’s reappearance in Daredevil’s life.

However, Page remained a prominent character in both the 3rd season of the series and the spinoff, The Punisher. As a result, fans seem a bit disappointed in not being able to witness Deborah Woll Ann bringing that iconic character to life again for Daredevil: Born Again. However, Charlie Cox mentioned, “I would like for Matt to continue exploring” and went on to further explain, “What I mean by that is I think there’s a lot of fun stories to tell, still.”

As such, there seems to be more in store for fans when it comes to this Marvel superhero and his adventures. So, even without any reports of the appearance of Deborah Woll Ann as Karen Page for the upcoming Disney+ series, for now, fans might still have a lot to look forward to.
