Sharing the details on his X account, journalist Ramin Setoodeh revealed that he was willing to bring Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie together for a long time. But before he could even make his request, Murphy’s team reached out to arrange a session between the Barbenheimer actors, since Murphy wanted to do so, despite his voluntary exile from Hollywood.

Cillian Murphy Had a Special Offer for Margot Robbie

The actors who started the global phenomenon of “Barbenheimer” following the release of their respective summer blockbusters of 2023, appeared for a discussion on Variety. Yes, it’s none other than Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie, who chose to volunteer for Variety’s recent Actors on Actors session.

But there’s a story behind the two actors’ team-up. According to Variety’s New York bureau chief Ramin Setoodeh’s post on X, Cillian Murphy was personally interested in having a discussion with Margot Robbie. Therefore, despite his self-imposed exile from Hollywood, the actor reached out to Robbie with his special offer of teaming up. 

The Barbie actress seemed equally interested in Murphy’s offer, and thus immediately said yes. Thereafter, the Oppenheimer actor’s team reached out to Ramin Setoodeh with the news. While Setoodeh had been waiting to pair Murphy and Robbie for a long time, he didn’t even have to request the duo, since he was instead reached out with the proposal.

After Margot Robbie accepted Cillian Murphy’s meeting proposal and journalist Ramin Setoodeh agreed to Murphy’s team’s proposal to organize a session, the actors appeared for Variety’s Actors on Actors on December 5.
