Helldivers 2 is an impressive and unique take on a science fiction reality where mankind is dealt with an awful hand of fighting hostile alien forces to gain their freedom in the Galactic War.
While the premise may seem unoriginal with Hollywood’s oversaturated coverage of various science fiction projects, it resembles Starship Troopers. And it only takes one creative mind to bridge these two worlds together in a very opportune and prudent manner.
Movie theaters usually show previews and teasers of upcoming films before a showing, but there is one local theater in Nashville, Tennessee that helped amplify the experience for the audience.
Despite being two different media projects, it is easy to mistake that if a viewer has seen one sci-fi flick, then they have seen them all. However, a Helldivers 2 ad perfectly placed before a film could rile up the crowd for an epic science fiction adventure.
An Unexpected Crossover Of Helldivers 2 And Starship Troopers
The Belcourt in Nashville had a screening of Starship Troopers, and despite the film’s age, the movie was able to draw in a crowd of people who were familiar and interested in the franchise. A member of the audience took a quick recording of an advertisement about Helldivers 2, right before the start of the film.

It does seem out of place but on the contrary, the game’s setting is perfectly in the ballpark of the movie itself. Both have an aspect of space exploration and focus heavily on the themes of war. This is not the first time the game has creatively collided with another franchise, as a short fight sequence from Star Wars: The Clone Wars was recreated in Helldivers 2.
There is no limit to a creative mind, and regardless of how similar most franchises that revolve around the science fiction genre are, each has its unique attributes. Other projects inspired the team at Arrowhead Game Studios as well. The CEO, Johan Pilestedt, is interested in making a Star Fox spin-off and developing a new game likely set in the world of Helldivers 2.
The staff of the theater at Nashville should feel great pride for cleverly connecting two different franchises and for the audience to notice it right off the bat. Starship Troopers may not bear the visual fidelity of Helldivers 2, but it is the thought that counts.

Perhaps the cinema staff aren’t fans of the game, but saw it as a perfect advertisement given the game’s nature. However, there are other patriots as Pilestedt would like to call them that are far more creative in terms of music.
Some fans have gone the extra mile and made a parody playlist for the game that can help immerse players even more.
Perhaps gamers can now blast the original soundtrack of Starship Troopers while fighting for democracy and intergalactic freedom in Helldivers 2, and develop a headcanon that both franchises are set in the same universe.
