After experiencing enormous success with its live-action version of the manga and anime One Piece last year, Netflix quickly revealed the second season of the show in response to the positive feedback they received. Now, they’re trying again with a live-action adaptation of the cartoon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” which was previously brought to life by director M. Night Shyamalan but failed miserably almost immediately for a number of reasons.

At this past week’s Avatar: The Last Airbender red carpet premiere in Hollywood, two members of the One Piece cast Iñaki Godoy who played Luffy, and Jacob Romero who played Usopp made an appearance and discussed the upcoming second season of the show. 

In addition, they were questioned about any specific personality they would want to see in the upcoming second season. Much to the surprise of One Piece fans, both of them wanted to see the iconic star Danny DeVito make an appearance in the second season. While they could not think of a role for the actor, they still wanted him to be a part of the One Piece series.

Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero Want Danny DeVito in One Piece Season 2

In an interview with Deadline at the Hollywood Red Carpet premiere of Avatar: The Last Bender, Luffy actor Iñaki Godoy and Usopp actor Romero were asked about the second season of the series. While they did not disclose much they did say the Straw Hat Pirates are going to the Grand Line.

Along with that, they were also asked about any actor they would love to see in One Piece season 2, to which they together called out the name of the legendary actor Danny DeVito. They said:

Iñaki Godoy: “Oh my God, Danny DeVito! If you’re seeing this right now, come to the show!”

Jacob Romero: “We’ve been thinking about Danny DeVito since Season 1. We would love to find a way to put Danny DeVito in One Piece somehow.”

Iñaki Godoy: “Just come here, man!. I want to do anything with Danny DeVito.”

When asked about the character DeVito would play in the series, both Godoy and Romero had no answer but they still felt excited to work with the actor and shared their immense love for him in the interview.

What To Expect From One Piece Live-Action’s Second Season

The Straw Hats pirates are traveling to the Grand Line in the second season, and Luffy will have to deal with all of the attention now that he is a sought-after pirate. Reindeer doctor Tony Tony Chopper is a new character who One Piece anime creator Eiichiro Oda revealed will be joining the cast after the news of the show’s second season renewal.

In addition, new characters like Nico Robin and Crocodile will appear in the series. Dr. Kureha and Monkey D. Dragon are two other well-known figures who might show up in the series. It should be intriguing to watch who the showrunners choose for such significant parts and how they plan to pull off a successful second season of One Piece. 

Also, if the creators manage to bring DeVito into the series, it is bound to be a success. While Godoy and Romero did not talk about a date or when can fans expect the series, looking at Netflix’s history it can very well release the series next year.
