Even though the Naruto series was one of the longest-running shows in the anime verse, there are still some unknown things that have been left as a mystery. One such story is about the death of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, who was revered as the Shinobi god. In the Naruto series, the Senju name is well-known. It was a clan noted for its ninjutsu prowess and overall combat talents, and Hashirama Senju was most likely the strongest among them. He was renowned as the God of Shinobi due to his unrivaled battle skill, vast chakra stores, and mastery over all five chakra natures.
Despite his strength, he died at an early age, with no explanation mentioned in the series. Nobody knows how the First Hokage died. Fans have been forced to speculate on potential causes of death in the absence of official information.

Who Was Hashirama Senju?
Hashirama Senju was a member of the famous Senju clan. He received the nickname the “God of Shinobi” for his unparalleled ninja abilities. Hashirama desired peace for the shinobi world and established Konohagakure with his clan, his boyhood friend and competitor, Madara Uchiha, and the Uchiha clan. He would later become the First Hokage. Hashirama was an exuberant man with a noisy demeanor. Despite his outward appearance, Hashirama was capable of being serious about topics that were important to him. Hashirama had been able to subdue and catch eight of the nine free-roaming tailed beasts on his own because of his special abilities.
However, there is still no evidence as to who or what killed Hashirama despite his overpowering strength. His life ended rather early when the character was in his forties and he was yet to achieve complete peace.
How Did Hashirama Die?
Given Hashirama’s battle strength, it’s practically unthinkable that he had been killed in the conflict. If this is the case, the most reasonable solution to this issue is natural death. If Hashirama died naturally, it wasn’t an essential event that needed to be depicted in the flashback. However, Hashirama Senju was known to have a special power that allowed him to recover from any significant injuries. Therefore fans also think that he might have used his regenerative capabilities too much which would have resulted in his death. Given all of the information, many fans believe that the original member of the Hidden Leaf Village died as a result of an illness or a complication from his regeneration process.
There have also been some fan theories that stated that Hashirama Senju was well versed with his powers and how they could be used for bad things in the future, just like Orochimaru did. This is why he decided to hide himself which would stop others from using his powers for their personal good. Another theory suggests that because he was too powerful to kill, someone might have poisoned him as he was not around when Tobirama was already the second Hokage. All of these incidents are just theories developed by fans so they are pretty far-fetched, but in reality, no one knows the correct reason for his death.
The true cause of Hashirama’s death may never be known. There is a way to suggest he could survive all of the things that could kill him. Despite his death, Hashirama had a far-reaching impact. While he did not survive to witness peace between the Senju and Uchiha clans, he did contribute to the creation of an environment helpful to achieve peace.
