Counter-Strike 2 has been a big upgrade from previous games in the series and still thrives on the franchise’s foundations to be one of the most challenging and competitive shooters in the industry today. However, not all updates are purely mechanical. Some of them change the way the game looks and feels, and one of these changes has been noticed in the game’s animations.
Usually, moving around in Counter-Strike 2 doesn’t feel as distracting, considering how the animations have been registered in players’ psyches for decades now. But the latest update has switched things up a little, and you might feel a bit distracted looking at your hands instead of being aware of enemies in the game.
Players Have Mixed Thoughts About the New Feature
View-bobbing didn’t have to feel so realistic, apparently. It turns out that a new clip on X shared by ESLCS showcases how hand movements look and feel. And players have mixed opinions about the same.
Previously, the hands would sway left-to-right, to and fro, but now they have a slightly different movement pattern. This may make things feel a bit more realistic, but any kind of change in such animations hardly goes unnoticed by pro players. After all, Counter-Strike 2’s major focus on aim and reflexes matters most to players.
That being said, the animations do feel more natural to newcomers, and the online community is still making up its mind about the recent changes.
Counter-Strike 2 Stays Careful About Changes
Most of what Counter-Strike 2 revamped from the previous games had to do with visual changes. The smoke feels different, the graphics feel a bit more modern, and the animations seem slightly more realistic. Mechanical changes have been a smaller part of the improvements since the franchise was already known for its solid gunplay and competitive edge.
Keeping that in mind, the new changes may affect how competitive players feel as they grow and develop as athletes. After all, getting used to certain movements and animations builds the foundation for how aware players are in the game during dicey situations. Naturally, not all responses to the new changes are positive.
Framing an opinion about an update that drastically changes the way things look in Counter-Strike 2 can take a while. Hence, we’ll have to wait and watch how it sparks a conversation or two in the community about the same.
