The long-awaited space RPG from Bethesda finally made its way to the gamers. However, gamers have quite a bittersweet opinion about Starfield. It has been the subject of a lot of hatred from the community. Some gamers were able to get their hands on the early access. And after playing the game, very few players had something positive to say about it. Being a sci-fi game, the community has been comparing it to Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 was quite a disappointment when it was released. With Starfield, the case is different as they’re trying to convey a message to the players with this space RPG. Hoping to prove it’s more than just Skyrim in space, Starfield was anticipated to be the revolution in the RPG genre.

Many players, who had early access, or those who got their hands on the game after the release of the standard edition have shared their opinions on various platforms. Being the most anticipated game of the year, Starfield seems to have failed to live up to its hype. Its fate is being compared to Cyberpunk 2077, which many claim was better than Bethesda’s self-proclaimed masterpiece.

“If you dissect them [both games] and strip away the setting, they are incredibly similar in terms of how they feel and play — even when you view gameplay footage side by side,” a Redditor presented his point and added, “But if we indulge in this comparison, the reality is that Cyberpunk outshines Starfield in nearly every aspect.” From the post in the Starfield subreddit, it is surprising how the tables have turned.

While comparing games, players often jump to conclusions quickly and draw definitive lines in the sand. For Starfield, this hatred from the community is uncalled for because, compared to Cyberpunk 2077, this actually works. When the latter was released, it was filled with numerous glitches. Starfield runs quite smoothly and is a greatly optimized game. The fact that players can play this game and enjoy it is what matters at the end of the day.

Many players in the community have called out these comparisons as being stupid and meaningless. Even CD Projekt Red’s Patrick K. Mills shared his opinion regarding these countless clips comparing different aspects of both these games.

“This fake criticism is actively harmful to the way the audience interacts with the medium and I hate it, but it’s very funny to see after how many hundreds of these were made to ridicule Cyberpunk 2077.”

Fans have taken their complaints to the internet and have been sharing their opinions regarding Starfield. Bethesda follows a particular flow in their games but according to some players, this RPG wasn’t up to the mark. They expressed how Starfield didn’t feel at par with the modern gaming experience.

However, comparing Starfield with Cyberpunk 2077 won’t do any good. Even one of the people responsible for creating Cyberpunk 2077, Patrick K. Mills, shared his opinion regarding these pointless comparisons. When Cyberpunk 2077 was released, there were a lot of things players had to say. Similarly, people are imposing their criticism on this newly released RPG from Bethesda.
