Dune 2 has been released all over the world and has garnered universal praise for the story, performances, and visual effects which are all important in the checklist of the Japanese visionary, Hideo Kojima as he put out a brief but detailed essay on his X page, unlike the two-word review of Sony’s latest bomb Madame Web. Hideo is passionate when it comes to films and oftentimes his work will reflect that and it is a sight to see a director praise another from a different form of art.
Dune 2 Gets Gushed While Madame Web Gets Brushed By Hideo Kojima
Hideo Kojima has made many movie-like video games in the past couple of years and helped redefine the action stealth genre with his Metal Gear series, and dissect what it means to be human with his latest Death Stranding game and its upcoming sequel coming next year. It was very much guaranteed that he would enjoy Denis Villeneuve’s latest masterpiece, unfortunately, the same cannot be said with Sony’s poor attempt to build their cinematic universe.
Hideo is more into quality than he is into quantity, Dune 2 has been highly revered as one of the greatest movies ever made, and just based on the reactions and reviews, Hideo is among those who truly appreciate this kind of story-telling and art.
Even as a movie buff, I was beginning to think it was time for me to start watching movies on my smartphone or tablet. However, when I watched "Dune: Part 2”, my rigid ways of thinking crumbled like sand! It meticulously depicts the non-existent world of Arrakis, bringing it to… https://t.co/irVAxRfNyK

It is humbling to see an actual director be seen as a fan like the rest of the world and game recognizes game, the director went all out by stating that this film will be a resistance against the spread streaming of streaming services with modern films.
The film was the definition of cinema, and it should first always be enjoyed inside a theater with a full audience and not be distributed for streaming, and yes it is far more convenient to stream but the experience cannot be replicated from a theater. Despite Sony’s history with Kojima, the director didn’t hold back with his harsh review of their film. One could argue Madame Web should have been directly streamed and didn’t need a theatrical release.
This Film Shouts, “This Is Cinema!”, Hideo Kojima Loved Dune 2
The Dune franchise also features a stellar cast and one of them has been in a Hideo Kojima game. Actress Léa Seydoux portrayed Fragile in Death Stranding and will reprise her role in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the honor of being directed by two great filmmakers who recognize talent must be quite the experience.
The amount of charisma and talent that Dune 2 possesses is impeccable, from young lead actors Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya as the leads and veteran actors like Christopher Walken, this is the type of ensemble that Kojima is into.
While Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web failed to entice anyone despite the franchise it is involved in and the cast, Kojima and the rest of the world will always be fascinated by films that are grand in scale and quality that will evoke emotions and bless the screens with beautiful visuals and offer a compelling story like Denis Villenueve’s Dune 2.
