The development of Daredevil: Born Again began in March 2022 and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for an announcement. The production of the show was halted due to the strikes but with that out of the way, sources have confirmed that the production is in full swing.
Multiple sources revealed that Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) was expected to make an appearance in the series, however, an insider has revealed that the cameo might get scrapped as the series is currently being reworked. In the series, Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil from Netflix’s Daredevil alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Sandrine Holt, Nikki M. James, and Genneya Walton.

Is Marvel planning to cancel Sebastian Stan’s cameo in Daredevil: Born Again?
A Hollywood insider, Caiden Reed, has recently revealed in a tweet that actor Sebastian Stan was all set to appear as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier in Marvel’s upcoming television series, Daredevil: Born Again. Since the series will be sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, it makes sense how this cameo would work.
However, the insider has also revealed that the series is currently being reworked, so there are chances that the showrunners might cancel the cameo. Even if the cameo gets scrapped, fans will get more of the character in the upcoming film Thunderbolts (2025).
Daredevil: Born Again will be a soft reboot
Since its announcement in 2022, Daredevil: Born Again has faced several delays. Recently, the series went through a creative overhaul, which means that Chris Ord and Matt Corman, the head writers have been removed from the writing duties and will serve as executive producers instead. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who directed some episodes of Loki season two, have been hired to shoot the remaining episodes of Daredevil: Born Again.
Another industry insider, TimeToShineHello, recently revealed in a tweet that the series will be a soft reboot of Netflix’s Daredevil, which means that the the show will share some of its cast members and their history. The series is expected to be released on Disney+ in early 2025.
