Abigail Breslin accused The Dark Knight actor Aaron Eckhart, who played Harvey Dent in the Christopher Nolan film, of “aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional behavior,” which she said made her feel threatened while filming their upcoming movie, Classified.
The Zombieland actress refused to be alone with the actor and insisted on other demands, or she would not continue to work on the said project.
Abigail Breslin Alleges Aaron Eckhart Of Violent Conduct On Movie Set
As per Los Angeles Times, Abigail Breslin allegedly refused to be alone with Aaron Eckhart on the set of the action-thriller Classified. She plays an analyst for the U.K.’s MI6 while Eckhart portrays a CIA hitman.
Dream Team Studios and WM Holdings are now suing Breslin for breach of contract, claiming her accusations cost the project $80,000. The movie is also facing issues as to its release due to a few scenes where Breslin and Eckhart appear together. The lawsuit stated (via LA Times):
“The entire production almost ground to a halt when Breslin advised the production of Eckhart’s aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional behavior which she insisted placed her at various times in peril.”
Breslin’s demands were mentioned, including refusing to star in scenes with Eckhart unless she is accompanied and other accommodations made by the production team to meet her requests. The report continued:
“In order for the production to continue, among other things, Breslin refused to be alone in several scenes with Eckhart, and costly accommodations had to be made by the production to accommodate Breslin’s demands, or else Breslin would not continue to perform her contractual obligations.”
It is still unknown if the actress already confronted Eckhart pertaining to the alleged abuse before filing a complaint. However, a representative from Breslin’s camp told Rolling Stone:
“[Breslin] is not aware of any action filed against her and has not been served with any legal notice. Ms. Breslin categorically denies all contended allegations and unequivocally stands by her statement which she provided confidentially to SAG.”
The film’s producer known as Mr. Georgiev claimed he found no evidence of Eckhart being aggressive on the set.
Abigail Breslin’s Accusations Against Aaron Eckhart Might Delay Film Distribution
Abigail Breslin is reportedly withholding her signature, which the plaintiffs claim is affecting the movie’s distribution. Apparently, without the actress’ signature, the producers cannot claim tax credits in Malta where the film was shot, and the movie cannot be distributed either. The complaint says (via LA Times):
“[Breslin withholding her signature] has completely imperiled the financial wellbeing of the production, including concluding distribution agreements and delivering under the terms of existing distribution agreements.”
The plaintiffs are seeking $80,000 in real damages after Breslin wrote a letter to SAG-AFTRA raising her concerns about Aaron Eckhart’s on-set behavior.
