David Letterman is known around the world as being a television host and stand-up comedian throughout his career. Working and interviewing hundreds of actors along the way, Letterman started his journey with Late Night with David Letterman.
Working as a television host for 33 years, the host sat down for an interview (for a change) with Stephen Colbert. Talking about his experience as a host, Letterman revealed that he was deathly afraid of the Green Day drummer!
David Letterman Was Terrified of The Green Day Drummer
Back in the days when David Letterman was the host of his show, the American rock band Green Day would often perform. After Letterman retired from his business, the host appeared in an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Recalling his days, David Letterman revealed that he was deathly terrified of the drummer of Green Day whenever they would perform. Giving a genuine reason for his fear, Letterman revealed that the drummer used to charge at his desk whenever they would finish!
“I was thinking about this. Green Day, whenever Green Day would be on…I was frightened by their drummer. Whenever they would finish, he would charge the desk and lunge at me”.
Letterman further continued,
“To the point where I assumed he was kidding around or perhaps he actually wanted to hurt me. Looking back at that now, I just think, ‘Wow, what a great experience that was'”.
Well, having interviewed hundreds of celebrities over the years, Letterman had also once interviewed veteran actor Will Smith, 2 months before the Oscar slap incident.
Will Smith Imagined His Money Flowing Away!
Just 2 months before Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, the actor had appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. Talking about using the South American plant ayahuasca, Smith talked about the weirdest dream that he had!
“It’s like I start seeing all of my money flying away, and my house is flying away, and my career is going away. My whole life is getting destroyed. Then slowly, I stopped caring about my money, I just wanted to get to Willow. I stopped caring about my house, I stopped caring about my career,”
Well, who knew that this dream would turn into a waking nightmare for the actor? His career was shredded into pieces after he slapped Chris Rock. As for Letterman, the former late-show host currently works as an executive producer for several projects.
