Why? Well, ever since it was announced that Hugh Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine despite leaving the role behind years ago, the enthusiasm has been off the charts. And now, the release of the teaser trailer has given fans something more to obsess over, thanks to the many easter eggs hidden in it. This includes the split second in which you can spot what seems to be Wolverine’s alter ego, Patch.

It was already established that Deadpool 3 will not mess with the events of Logan, where Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was seen taking his final breaths. So before signing up to reprise his role alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jackman made it clear that he’ll only get on the Deadpool 3 wagon if Logan remains untouched.

Thus, it makes sense that the Wolverine Reynolds’ Wade Wilson will be meeting in the upcoming R-rated film, which will be a different version of the character.

On the other hand, it looks like Deadpool 3 will have more than one Wolverine in the film, thanks to a little Easter egg spotted in the teaser trailer. Right around the 1:19 mark, as Wade talks about the cinematic universe changing forever, you can see “Wolverine” sitting at a table with his back turned to the camera. However, thanks to his hairstyle and the outfit he has donned, it looks like this variant is none other than Wolverine’s alter ego, Patch.

Patch was the eye-patch-wearing alias that Wolverine would adopt in the comics whenever he visited the fictional city, Madripoor. This could very well mean that Deadpool 3 is going to have multiple Wolverines in the film and since Wade is traveling through timelines with the TVA, he could meet said Patch in one of those timelines before coming face to face with Jackman’s main Wolverine. There are also speculations that we might get to see Lady Deadpool in the film as her weapon was spotted in the teaser trailer, as well!

This exciting Easter egg was in the trailer for just a split second. In fact, you could blink your eyes and miss it! Despite this, eagle-eyed fans were able to catch the moment and are now eager to find out more. Taking to X, fans couldn’t keep their excitement in as they celebrated Patch’s apparent on-screen appearance.

Users also theorized that Patch could be played by some other actors, like Taron Egerton or Daniel Radcliffe, and not Jackman.
