So far, Deadpool 3 is looking like the ultimate movie that fans have been expecting to see from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for so long. Rumored to star more than one X-Men in it, exclusive reports of the film have brought forward some seriously sweet news for fans — something that has to do with the original X-Men movie from 2000.
According to the most recent reports swirling around about multiple X-Men variants, it seems that the third installment of the Deadpool movie series just might be able to do the very thing with Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender that previous X-Men films have been unable to do.
Could Deadpool 3 Make The Two Magnetos Meet As Variants?
Fans already know from all the leaked set pictures from Deadpool 3 that Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine won’t be the only mutant returning to the big screen in Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming film.
But while these previously included two main antagonists from the villain’s panel in the original X-Men movie, i.e. Sabretooth and Toad, recent reports have been hinting that they might not be the only ones.
As per the newest reports shared by @Crytic4KQual on X, there just might be multiple different mutants from many different X-Men movies from the film series appearing in the next Deadpool installment.
Besides characters from X-Men (2000), as was previously hinted, these might also include mutants from the second and fifth movies of the X-Men film series, i.e. X2 (2003) and X-Men: First Class (2011). Further reports claim some other of them could come as variants.
I heard we’ll get many different Mutants spanning different X-Men Films. X2 and The First Class included. Some being variants. https://t.co/KwQX3qG55x

On the one hand, while the former part of the report from the X account had fans hoping to see some of their favorite characters from the original X-Men movies, the latter part, on the other, ignited speculation about the return of the original Magneto mutant, i.e. Sir Ian McKellen‘s Erik Lehnsherr.
This also gave rise to one major question: Could Deadpool 3 actually make the two Magnetos, i.e. Michael Fassbender‘s reboot one and Sir McKellen’s one from the original film series, meet? Though it hasn’t been confirmed yet, this report has indirectly hinted at the possibility of the event.
Moreover, since the MCU is currently in its Multiverse Saga, it won’t really be out of the ordinary if they are truly planning to bring Sir McKellen back as a variant. And if he does come back, the sight of his Magneto meeting Fassbender’s would frankly be a mind-blowing one.
This Deadpool 3 Rumor Has Fans Beyond-Elated
Following these reports, although officially unconfirmed, fans have gotten even more excited about Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool 3 than they were before. Considering it to be the next masterpiece from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, here’s what they have to say:
