There’s a thrilling possibility that this film could delve into one of Deadpool’s most outlandish and hilarious comic arcs: a storyline involving Star Wars, lightsabers, and a whole lot of fourth-wall-breaking mayhem. Lightsaber is the most iconic weapon, not only of Star Wars but perhaps of all fiction.

It surprisingly made an appearance in Marvel’s Deadpool: Badder Bloods #3 (2023) by Rob Liefeld and Chad Bowers. In the issue, The Merc with a Mouth was stuck in a reality-bending simulation against deadly foes including his other selves. He went up against Venompool but not without the help of Kidpool!

The kid gave him a weapon we all are very familiar with. Even Deadpool knew what exactly the laser sword was, but being Deadpool he chose not to drop the name. He also explained that he had wanted it since he was six.

Now, the live-action Deadpool is all set to unleash the true madness in the multiverse. With TVA on his tail, the undead mercenary can be causing some mayhem in alternate universes. This might be the perfect time for him to land in a galaxy far, far away!  Imagine Wade Wilson vs. Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar and the position of a Jedi Master on the line. Pure cinema!

Marvel has ensured Deadpool’s debut into the MCU is a grand one. Thus, it is the only MCU movie releasing in 2024, the first time since Avengers was released in 2012. However, speaking of what comes next, Deadpool might be just the tip of the iceberg. Phase Five will feature Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts in 2025.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, Eyes of Wakanda, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Superman will be released on Disney+ to cap off the fifth phase of the MCU. Beyond this phase, The Fantastic Four, Blade, and two Avengers movies have been officially announced as well.

Further, an X-Men film, War Machine movie, Spider-Man, and Shang-Chi sequels are also in the work. Speaking of the future of television shows, MCU has planned out much in advance. A Wakanda series, Nova series, Vision Quest, Wonder Man, and Marvel Zombies are among the works in development. Sequels for animated Spider-Man and What If are also planned beyond phase five.
