Actor Jon Hamm was recently seen in the fifth season of the acclaimed TV series Fargo. The star has starred in multiple acclaimed roles in series such as Mad Men and The Morning Show, as well as films such as Baby Driver, Tag, Richard Jewell, and more. He was also seen with Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in last year’s blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.

Despite his stardom, the actor has not donned a supersuit yet and has not been cast by either DC or Marvel. Though the actor has starred in blockbuster films and has an Emmy and two Golden Globes to his name, he does not seem to have any power over the MCU’s casting choices.

Jon Hamm is one of the most accomplished actors and has gained superstardom by featuring in acclaimed shows and films. However, he started his career as an actor on stage in 1995 when he moved to LA after graduating from college with a Bachelor’s in English. He reportedly worked as a waiter while struggling to find work as an actor.

Hamm reportedly gave himself a deadline to quit acting after he continuously failed to get work and was dropped by his agency. He mentioned that he gave himself five years to find work as an actor and if by the time he was 30, he did not, he would quit. Hamm reportedly started working right away.

After bagging a recurring role in the TV show Providence and making his film debut in Clint Eastwood’s Space Cowboys, Jon Hamm got his big breakthrough with the show Mad Men. The show was centered around advertising executives in the 1960s. The show won him a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, along with numerous nominations.

He then starred in multiple blockbusters such as The A-Team, Sucker Punch, Baby Driver, and Million Dollar Arm. He returned to TV with shows like 30 Rock, Black Mirror, The Morning Show, and more recently Fargo. He also starred as Vice Admiral Cyclone Simpson in last year’s blockbuster Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun: Maverick.

Jon Hamm Is Still Not On The List For Marvel

While Jon Hamm is one of the most respected and profitable actors working in Hollywood, he is still yet to dip his toes in the superhero genre, apart from being the narrator on Legion. The actor has not featured in any MCU film despite featuring in a cameo in the X-Men comics. Jon Hamm was recently asked about his eventual appearance in the MCU in an interview with ScreenRant, to which he said,

“Those decisions get made at such a high level at this point, definitely above my pay grade. I would love to. I’ve been a fan of Marvel Comics and comics in general since I was probably single digits. I think there are tons of stories that I’m familiar with, at least, that are still out there to be told.”

The actor did name-drop some of his favorite comics, which happened to be films that are currently in development at Marvel. He mentioned the Fantastic Four and X-Men, both of whom are making their MCU debuts soon. Jon Hamm actor also spoke about Doctor Doom, who is widely being eyed as the main villain for the Multiverse Saga after Jonathan Major’s legal troubles. Hamm said,

“Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they include me. But if not, I know that they have a pretty deep bench of folks that are ready to be a part of those stories.”

The Fantastic Four film is currently in development with Pedro Pascal being eyed to star as Mr. Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby rumored to be cast as Susan Storm.
