Jason Momoa is set to take over the holiday season with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which will release worldwide on the weekend before Christmas. The star whose towering personality was the perfect choice for the Atlantean DC superhero, will look to explore different shades to the character this time around.
In the lead-up to the film’s release, Momoa spoke about the various aspects of Aquaman 2 which included a script that was more funny and witty than the first film. The Game of Thrones star though, wasn’t always a fan of humor in films. Momoa who was first seen as Aquaman in Justice League, was not happy with the brand of comedy involving his character, and asked for certain dialogues to be edited from the film.
Jason Momoa Cringed At Aquaman’s Dialogues In Justice League
Jason Momoa played Arthur Curry aka Aquaman with a tongue-in-cheek charisma, and revealed that the sequel which is due for release soon will be even funnier than the first. The actor though, was not a fan of the way his character was portrayed in Justice League which was the first time that Aquaman was introduced to audiences. Along with the complaint that the character came across as too grumpy, the DC star felt that some of the dialogues that Aquaman delivered in the film were cringeworthy.
Confessing that he was very protective of his role, Momoa stated that he requested a particular scene involving a joke about Aquaman talking to fish to be cut entirely from the film. Following Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League, Aquaman’s character was subsequently modified with many of the jokes being cut at the editing table.
Jason Momoa Dedicated Aquaman 2 To The Memory Of A Young Fan
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom starring Jason Momoa is one of the most anticipated films to close out the year. Reacting to the devastating news that 8-year-old Danny Sheehan passed away from a rare form of brain cancer, the DC star penned an emotional note to the young soul on his Instagram account.
“I just found out this heartbreaking news. All my Aloha to this beautiful Ohana Love u baby boy rest in (peace). You will live in my heart. I dedicate Aquaman 2 to you lil angel Aloha UNKO Aquaman.”

Momoa took their relationship further by video calling the young boy for a one-to-one chat. The celebrity even presented his fan with a life-sized trident. In respect to the departed soul, Momoa’s Instagram tribute for that day featured a mural of Danny and Aquaman created by the Boys and Girls Club in Danny’s hometown of Marshfield, Massachusetts.
