Genshin Impact is a game that has included Childe since the inclusion of the Liyue Archon Quest. Version 1.1 was when he first appeared, making him the third limited-time playable character in the game. He was a core member of the Liyue Archon Quests and even ended up becoming the second weekly boss of the game. The Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, Childe is best known as Tartaglia of the Fatui.
The fans were able to see a glimpse of him not only in the nation of Geo but also that of Inazuma. However, what was much more unexpected was his involvement in Fontaine, a nation that had nothing to do with him. What is concerning is his status in the game so far considering his death has been rumored multiple times before.

Will Genshin Impact’s Childe Meet a Similar Fate to Signora?
Back in Inazuma, all fans who had desperately been waiting for La Signora to become playable saw their world crumbling as the Raiden Shogun turned her into ash. Signora had been part of the game since the start, being responsible for taking Venti’s Gnosis. Taking the Gnosis from the land of Freedom and that of the land of Contract, only to meet her end in the land of Eternity. Irony struck her in the worst way possible. However, it was Childe who was left to pick up after her, also following the disappearance of Scaramouche, later to be found in Sumeru.
In Fontaine, Childe’s story is different. Although he is a proud Harbinger, Tartaglia is a mere traveler in Fontaine. He is a tourist spending his vacation days, or at least he was. Since his days in Fontaine, he was wrongly accused of being responsible for the various women being kidnapped in the nation of Justice. Even after he was proven innocent, the Oratrice Mécanique d’Analyse Cardinale thought otherwise. From then on, he found himself in the Fortress of Meropide. However, is Childe even alive?

The Fate of Ajax of the Fatui
Even before he gets accused wrongly, Childe explains to the Traveler as to how his Vision has been acting peculiarly. Although the theory on that is yet to be explained, many believe that the cause of that could be Fontaine’s Primordial Sea. Childe is said to have escaped the Fortress of Meropide on his own accord but what after that? So much so that in the last cutscene of the Archon Quest Cataclysm’s Quickening, his vision appears to be translucent. Right after that players can see an unconscious Tartaglia waking up surrounded by water.
In front of him appears to be a large whale. All of this is yet to be explained, something that would later be addressed in the 4.2 Archon Quests most probably. However, the question remains about whether or not Childe is safe. Although the conclusion of the quest had been that he was alive, there was a strong chance that the Harbinger could die because of the effects of the Primordial Sea. There could also be a strong chance that he loses his vision, seeing how weird it was acting.
