Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 is undoubtedly one of the most popular third-person shooters in the world right now and Arrowhead’s head, Johan Pilestedt, is constantly taking feedback from the players to understand how the game is functioning. In one of his recent interactions, Pilestedt hinted at bringing “more enemy variety” to the game. The discussion began after a player asked Pilestedt to add more variety for top-tier weapons.
Fans are already expecting more enemy variety as the third faction of the game, Illuminate, is expected to arrive soon. Introduced in Helldivers (2015), the Illuminate is a highly advanced alien civilization that is expected to clash with the Helldivers 2 community soon.
Helldivers 2 boss Johan Pilestedt hints at “more enemy variety” coming to the game
Recently, an X user asked Arrowhead’s head, Johan Pilestedt to add more viable loadout options for top tiers in Helldivers 2, adding that the MGs and DMRs are too weak. Pilestedt agreed that the top tiers need more variety, however, he also talked about “more enemy variety” for top tiers. He wrote on X,
“I agree that there’s stuff that we can do to improve variety at top tiers. One such is more enemy variety that requires different tools – We’ll just see what happens”
Arrowhead has been praised for swiftly making changes to the game depending on players’ experience. Pilestedt is well-known for interacting with the fans and his dedication to the game is quite evident. He also once revealed that some elements of Helldivers 2 are also inspired by the time he served in the army.
The Illuminate is coming to Helldivers 2
Pilestedt indeed hinted at “more enemy variety” coming to the game but it is already known that a completely new faction is coming to the game very soon and players of the first game are familiar with this new faction: the Illuminate. It is unclear when this alien civilization is coming to the game, but fans have got various hints lately that confirm that they’re on their way.
Some data miners recently found an interesting item in the game’s files that belonged to the Illuminate. Apart from this, there are also speculations that a new kind of war is also coming to the game that will test the players to their limits. Some big changes are coming to the game soon and players should definitely prepare themselves for a worthy battle.
