Having written her name all over 2023, Taylor Swift has had an even more special start to 2024. The singer-songwriter, who topped Spotify’s most-streamed artists’ chart and enjoyed a great run at the box office with her concert movie Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, has now managed to make the headlines at this year’s Grammys.

After picking up Best Pop Vocal Album as well as Album Of The Year awards, Swift took her total Grammys tally to a remarkable 14. However, the second honor, which was presented by Celine Dion, has grabbed more attention than the first for more than one reason.

Social Media Users Highlight the Moment Taylor Swift “Ignored” Celine Dion

Taylor Swift won the biggest prize of the night for her chart-bursting album, Midnights, and became the first person to ever win four Album of the Year awards. She was previously tied for three best album wins with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and Frank Sinatra.

The win became even more special for the 34-year-old because Celine Dion made an unexpected appearance to hand her the award. The legendary singer has been away from the public eye after announcing in 2022 that she was diagnosed with the neurological disease stiff person syndrome.

“When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart,” Dion said. “Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted — the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world.”

After receiving the award, Swift remarked: “I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life. But I feel this happy when I’ve finished a song or when I’ve cracked the code to a bridge that I love or when I’m shot listing a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show.”

Seeing the two legends on the same stage was certainly a great experience for everyone present at the ceremony. However, as usual, some social media users found a reason to criticize Swift.

Several X users suggested the Anti-Hero singer was so excited while receiving the gramophone that she ignored Dion. That claim, however, was quickly drowned out by a beautiful picture of Swift and Dion.

Swift was photographed hugging the My Heart Will Go On stars. She can be seen wrapping her arm across the 55-year-old, who also appeared delighted with the 14-time Grammy winner‘s sweet embrace.

The awkward moment on the stage was nothing but an oversight amid such intense emotions.

Swift was also seen singing Dion’s The Power of Love as the singer made her way onto the stage. That should further underline the respect the young star has for her senior.
