Rochelle Davis opens up about Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal of The Crow

Bill Skarsgård is one of the most popular actors in the industry. The Swedish actor is best known for his portrayal of Pennywise in the movies It and It Chapter Two. Skarsgård has also been making a lot of headlines recently after the first look pictures of his character Eric Draven from his upcoming supernatural movie, The Crow were released.

However, the fans and critics are not big fans of the first-look pictures of Bill Skarsgård’s character. Even Rochelle Davis who portrayed the role of Sarah Mohr in The Crow movie back in 1994 gave her views on the topic and the actress is not impressed.

According to TMZ, Rochelle Davis did not have much expectations from the remake anyway but after looking at recent pictures of Skarsgård’s character from the movie, the actress is just disappointed.

Despite having immense respect for Skarsgård’s as an actor, Davis defined the look of the actor as, “dingy, dirty, grungy.” As reported by TMZ, Rochelle Davis thinks that the producers “made this version of Eric Draven look like the bad guys he’s supposed to be fighting.

The Crow is a remake of a movie of the same name from the 90s in which Brandon Lee portrayed the iconic role of Eric Draven aka The Crow. The movie revolves around the character of Draven who is resurrected and looking for revenge after he was murdered along with his fiancé by some gang members.

Bill Skarsgård does not resemble Brandon Lee at all

Brandon Lee portrayed the role of Eric Draven aka The Crow in the original movie from 1994, sadly, which also turned out to be his last movie. While filming a scene on the set of The Crow, Lee was supposed to be shot by a prop gun as a part of the script. However, unfortunately, a live round was fired from the gun which ended up killing the actor at the young age of 28.

Although Brandon Lee passed away tragically, he had almost completed the filming of the movie. Therefore, the producers decided to complete the movie by casting his stunt double in some scenes to complete the movie and release it.

Davis “says anyone other than a straight white male would be a better fit for replacing Brandon’s character — and she thinks producers should have cast someone who resembles Brandon out of respect.

Despite the tragic passing of Brandon Lee, The Crow turned out to be a massive critical and commercial success as the movie went on to gross almost $94 million against a budget of $23 million.

The Crow is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The remake of the movie starring Bill Skarsgård is all set to be released later this year on June 7, 2024.
