Previously, Sharon Stone released her bombshell memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, in 2021. She made many claims there. From how she was not considered for Basic Instinct for a long time, to how a producer of one of her movies asked her to sleep with her co-star to improve his performance in the movie. Now, recently, she dropped some names to go along with the story.

Sharon Stone Dropped Some Name Bombs

Sharon Stone, 66, was on The Louis Theroux Podcast earlier this week, where she named some names and made the internet go crazy with some more revelations. Previously, having talked about how she was asked by one of her movie producers to sleep with her co-star, she finally revealed who this producer and co-star were. Revealing them to be Robert Evans and William “Billy” Baldwin, the Basic Instinct actress shared how when she was working on the movie Sliver, Evans called her to his office and proposed she sleep with Baldwin to improve his performance and on-screen their chemistry.

“He called me to his office. He had these very low ’70s, ’80s couches, so I’m essentially sitting on the floor, when I should have been on set,” further adding, “And he’s running around his office in sunglasses explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better, and we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem.”

In her 2021 memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone talked about the incident, writing (via Vanity Fair):

“I had a producer bring me to his office, where he had malted milk balls in a little milk-carton-type container under his arm with the spout open. He walked back and forth in his office with the balls falling out of the spout and rolling all over the wood floor as he explained to me why I should fuck my costar so that we could have onscreen chemistry. Why, in his day, he made love to Ava Gardner onscreen and it was so sensational! Now just the creepy thought of him in the same room with Ava Gardner gave me pause. Then I realized that she also had to put up with him and pretend that he was in any way interesting.”

It was only recently that we, and the rest of the world, got to know who she was talking about in the book.

Robert Evans – The Man Behind The Godfather?

Robert Evans was made the head of Paramount Pictures in the year 1967. As its head, Evans produced many commercially and critically acclaimed films that led to the rise of the studio. In 1969, it was under his discretion, that Paramount bought the rights to Mario Puzo’s novel, The Godfather, which was later turned into a trilogy by Francis Ford Coppola, and to date remains one of the most successful films under Paramount.

Puzo, who wrote the novel, wanted Marlon Brando to play Michael Corleone, and Evans just didn’t think Al Pacino was the right man for the job. But Coppola, who directed the movie, had pictured the Insomnia actor in the lead role and could not get himself to replace Pacino with anyone else. And thus came the immaculate portrayal of Al Pacino as the man who changed how fans viewed mob movies until then. Well, keeping to Puzo’s wishes, even Brando got to play a major role in the first movie as Don Vito Corleone.

The Godfather trilogy is available on Paramount Plus.
