Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which consists of hidden Easter eggs. In the trailer (posted by Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube Channel), the final scene shows Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) lying on the ground with Wolverine’s (Huge Jackman) silhouette is coming towards him.

On the ground where he’s lying, one can spot a torn comic book cover next to Deadpool. Surprisingly, it’s from the 2015 Secret Wars crossover, a Marvel Comics story believed to inspire the 2027 Avengers: Secret Wars.

Below is the tweet by The Hollywood Handle showing the Easter egg:

The piece of torn paper matches with the poster of Secret Wars #5, which was published by Marvel Comics in 2015. Check the poster here:

God Emperor Doom is a featured character in the comic story, hinting he might be the supervillain in Deadpool & Wolverine. This movie is set to bring together Marvel characters from different universes.

So, maybe the piece of comic might be placed in the film to hint at Deadpool & Wolverine joining Avengers: Secret Wars.

It might be strange for Deadpool & Wolverine to introduce major villains like Doctor Doom and Beyonder, but the movie could be setting up important antagonists for the MCU.

Deadpool’s confident statement about saving the MCU as “Marvel Jesus” in the trailer hints that the multiverse elements in the movie could set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars.

There Were Speculations of Doctor Doom and Beyonder to be the Next Antagonists of the MCU Phase 6

Before Deadpool 3, earlier there were rumors (via The Direct) about Doctor Doom joining the MCU in Phase 6. For years, Kang the Conqueror seemed poised to become the MCU’s next big threat after Thanos.

But after Jonathan Majors‘ recent departure, people started speculating about introducing Doctor Doom in Phase 6 of the cinematic universe.

Doctor Doom’s portrayal as the main villain in the 2015 Secret Wars event hints that he might take over Kang the Conqueror’s role as the primary antagonist in the Multiverse Saga.

There were also speculations that Kang or the Beyonder could be the villain in Avengers: Secret Wars. While Kang was set up as the next big threat, reports via trusted scooper MyTimeToShineHello pointed—a version of the Beyonder will be involved in the MCU’s Secret Wars event.

In the 2015 Secret Wars comic, Doctor Doom was the main villain. But in the 1984 Secret Wars storyline, Beyonder was the main antagonist. He brought together Marvel heroes and villains on a planet called Battleworld.

As per the theory, turning Beyonder into a Kang variant would let Kang remain the main villain while still keeping some comic accuracy by having a version of Beyonder in the MCU.

Deadpool 3 is set to release in cinemas on July 26, and Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in theaters on May 7, 2027.
