"Don't destroy Star Wars like Thor 4": Taika Waititi Predicts His Star Wars Movie Will Piss People Off and Fans Are Already Concerned

  • Taika Waititi, the director of Thor: Ragnarok, has been criticized for going overboard with action in his previous films.
  • Fans are not willing to take chances with Waititi's upcoming Star Wars movie after he teased that it will "piss people off".
  • Despite teasing fans about his upcoming film, fans are genuinly concerned that Waititi might ruin Star Wars like he did Thor 4.

Taika Waititi had been performing fairly well in his directing career besides being a terrific actor–that was, until he got his hands on Thor: Ragnarok. Because not only did his quirky comedy yet immaculate version of this film made the actor a blockbuster filmmaker, it also earned him critical acclamation from fans and critics alike worldwide. But then Thor 4 came and everything changed, because he went a bit too overboard with the funky stuff.

Besides being renowned for his acting and directing skills, Taika Waititi is more than fairly famous for his quirky comedian skills. And he does not hold back on his witty sarcasm while promoting his films as well.

During a recent interview with Variety at the red carpet premiere of his recent film Next Goal Wins, the actor cum director was asked if his upcoming Star Wars movie would continue to show fans the same “Star Wars” that they have known and loved for years. To this he said:

“It will be… dramatic pause… a Taika Waititi film.”

Previously, during an interview, Waititi had shared that his film in development for the popular franchise is ‘still marinating’ and that he has ‘been writing it’. However this time, he took a more comical humoristic approach to answer the questions, and continued to tell Variety:

“It’s gonna piss people off,” Waititi laughed.

While the Jojo Rabbit star is having fun teasing fans about his upcoming Star Wars film, fans seem to be taking his comments on a serious note and are not willing to take any chances whatsoever with a movie from their favorite franchise as well.
