However, although fans passed on Thor: Love and Thunder, they’re not willing to take chances with Waititi’s forthcoming Star Wars movie–even more so after the filmmaker’s own comment claiming that the upcoming film will ‘piss people off’.

Besides being renowned for his acting and directing skills, Taika Waititi is more than fairly famous for his quirky comedian skills. And he does not hold back on his witty sarcasm while promoting his films as well.

During a recent interview with Variety at the red carpet premiere of his recent film Next Goal Wins, the actor cum director was asked if his upcoming Star Wars movie would continue to show fans the same “Star Wars” that they have known and loved for years. To this he said:

“It will be… dramatic pause… a Taika Waititi film.”

Previously, during an interview, Waititi had shared that his film in development for the popular franchise is ‘still marinating’ and that he has ‘been writing it’. However this time, he took a more comical humoristic approach to answer the questions, and continued to tell Variety:

“It’s gonna piss people off,” Waititi laughed.

While the Jojo Rabbit star is having fun teasing fans about his upcoming Star Wars film, fans seem to be taking his comments on a serious note and are not willing to take any chances whatsoever with a movie from their favorite franchise as well.
