One of the biggest factors to consider when buying a fighting game is the character roster. After all, who wants a game where you can only choose between 10 characters? Thankfully, it appears Sparking Zero is going to have a wide range of Dragon Ball characters to choose from!

We have the usual suspects, but also some surprise inclusions.

The information comes from @DbsHype on X, who posted scans from V Jump, the shonen magazine in Japan. The scans are a showcase of all the new characters coming to the game. We see several different-sized panels, showcasing a variety of Dragon Ball characters from across the universe. @Kaiser_Xeno responded to the tweet, offering a rough translation of the Japanese on the scans.

Across both scans, we see some fan favorites that are expected in every Dragon Ball game. Aside from Vegeta and Goku, we also see Trunks, Broly, Hit, and Master Roshi. Members of the Ginyu Force are also visible in some panels, specifically Burter and Jeice. There is also the Super Saiyan Kale and two Pride Troopers, namely, Dyspo and Toppo.

We also have a surprising entry into the roster: Kakunsa. Her character was introduced in Dragon Ball Super, first in her human appearance as Sanka Coo and later in her battle form as Kakunsa. She is a warrior from Universe 2 and a member of the Kamikaze Fireballs.

Even though she didn’t play a big role in the series, her inclusion is a good sign. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is claiming to have the biggest roster of all the games in the series, and including even characters like Kakunsa is evidence of that. There is still time for even more characters to be revealed, but what we have seen so far has painted a very exciting picture.

The V Jump scans not only showed which characters we can expect in the games but also some of their abilities and attacks. Everyone knows the Spirit Bomb and the Stardust Breaker will be present, but there are some moves and powers shown in the scans that should add some variation to the gameplay.

The scans also show that Goku will have 11 forms and Vegeta will have 13. These forms will span the various power-ups the two acquired throughout the Dragon Ball series, and we can expect other characters to get their unique forms as well, such as Max Power Master Roshi.

The game is no doubt going to be a nostalgic moment for all Budokai Tenkaichi fans. The expansive roster could also mean we have a lot of major fights to experience in the game, hinting at an expansive campaign.
