Without Androids 17 and 18, Cell would’ve remained that ugly creature that morphed out of that sticky cocoon in Dragon Ball Z. Maybe the Z fighters could have a chance against Dr. Gero’s evil plans. Both Androids had a pivotal role to play in the DB universe; that said, their depiction in any media franchise should catch the public eye.

In a way, it actually did in Sparking! Zero. But not in the way the developers were expecting it. The latest trailer dubbed ‘Master vs. Apprentice’ gave a glimpse of Android siblings in an alternate timeline where they successfully manage to attain the goal they were always meant to, wreak havoc on humanity.

By the looks of the recent trailer, Future Gohan and Future Trunks are up against evil Androids who doesn’t have a bit of mercy for humanity. Almost all the Z fighters succumbed to their power before Future Trunks decided to travel into the future to try altering the outcome he had witnessed.

Given their major antagonist status in the Dragon Ball universe, some fans are not happy about the characters’ portrayal in the upcoming Bandai Namco game. A user called Lou asked to remove the “weird shadows” from 17’s face.

The major hiccup remained the fact that developers haven’t confirmed the version of Android they are bringing to the game. The website mentions the term ‘Super’ alongside the characters, indicating that the character could be Super 17.

A fan questioned why Bandai Namco isn’t adding the Z version of Android to the website.

Sparking Zero looks fantastic, but fans have been noticing aspects where the game is falling short. Recently, they highlighted that one of the major characters isn’t getting the original voice that fans are used to.

Android 17 With a Super 17 Skin Don’t Sound Very Appealing

Up until now, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has depicted other characters and their styles with utter accuracy. While other games in the franchise’s video games failed to portray Yamcha’s signature move, dubbed Wolf Fang Fist, as it was in the anime, that wasn’t the case here. What’s more, players may see a tag team feature in the game too.

Considering this, it is safe to assume that players may soon get confirmation concerning details about 17’s character. Given that Sparking! Zero holds a roster of 164 players, it raises the probability of both Android 17 and Super 17 joining the next Budokai Tenkaichi adventure.

The game may come in late this year, but it may get delayed due to any pending developmental work. It has been in development for five years already so the latter scenario coming into fruition has a higher probability of happening.
