Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is possibly the most hotly anticipated entry into the ever-popular fighting game series for quite some time as it is going to throw fans right back into the glory days of the popular Budokai Tenkaichi series.
One thing that made Dragon Ball games particularly popular was the fact that battle damage was a big feature when brawling all out with your favorite characters from the anime. A Reddit user may have now spotted something that might just tell us that this feature might return in the latest entry.
Is Battle Damage Making a Return in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero?
A Reddit user too to the r/Tenkaichi4 subreddit and shared some screenshots from a recent trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero that appear to show Goku in his full un-damaged gi before flashing to a damaged gi after a strike from Vegeta.
Now while this is a brief snippet and there is no official confirmation has been given in what capacity the feature may return, it’s easy to look at this and get excited at the prospect of battle damage coming back to the beloved franchise. The hype for the game is already sky high and this being a possibility elevates that further.

Some fans in the comments on this post have suggested that this could simply be 2 different frames edited together to look like battle damage has occurred. However, some argue that the shots are far too similar for that to be the case. We will leave it to you to check out the post linked above to decide for yourselves.
Is It a Deal Breaker for Dragon Ball Fans if Battle Damage Is Not Featured?
In short, no. It’s not a deal breaker as there is still plenty for fans to enjoy in this game. As from what has been revealed thus far, ranging from the game is a brand new entry into the Budokai Tenkaichi sub-series of DBZ games and brings lots of elements from that series as well as a stunning new art style that looks like you’re playing the anime on your console or PC.
There’s certainly plenty here for fans new and old to enjoy as the game is also likely to feature the largest roster of any previous Dragon Ball title so far. All this is to say that battle damage or no battle damage the game is going to have a large fan base eagerly anticipating its release regardless.
While Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero currently has no release date set fans are chomping at the bit for more news and content surrounding this game and you can be sure that is news that we intend to cover as it happens.
