Yamoshi – The First Super Saiyan God

The backstory of Yamoshi, the Legendary Super Saiyan who was the first to achieve this rank and eventually advanced to the level of Super Saiyan God, remains a mystery in Dragon Ball. Though he is never called by name, Yamoshi is mentioned in both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. After his death, his spirit roamed around the universe in search of six pure-hearted Saiyans to perform the ceremony that would give birth to the Super Saiyan God. He was immortalized as the Legendary Super Saiyan and was supposed to be nothing more than a myth.

He made a brief cameo during the process in which Goku gathered five Saiyan souls to aid him in becoming a Super Saiyan God and fighting Beerus. Later, when losing to Beerus, Goku claimed that he had spoken to “the Super Saiyan God power,” who advised him not to give up. However, a popular Dragon Ball theory might confirm his return to the series as a villain.

Yamoshi May Return in Dragon Ball

In the world of Dragon Ball, the character of Yamoshi is a bit of a mystery. He was reputedly one of the first, if not the first, Super Saiyan in history. According to the Namekian Book of Legends, Yamoshi would later become the very first Super Saiyan God. There are also references to Yamoshi, an ancient Saiyan figure who appears to be the prototype for the Super Saiyan God. Yamoshi has fueled so much fan conjecture that some believe he will ultimately appear as an upcoming movie villain to put this discussion to bed.

This theory makes a lot of sense because Saiyan’s history and how they became a warrior race is still a mystery, and a movie explaining Yamoshi and his origin might help with that.
