Capcom has possibly one of the best games of the year with Dragon’s Dogma 2, the anticipated role game. This title will come less than a year after the incredible success of Baldur’s Gate 3, which was last year’s Game of the Year. Capcom will be presenting one of the most pure and amazingly crafted role-playing games ever.

With a mesmerizing attention to detail regarding the world building and characters. But this game will not be for everyone; several normal mechanics in any open-world game will not be part of this experience, like fast-travel.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will take things much further than Baldur’s Gate 3 in terms of realism and some mechanics

Dragon’s Dogma 2, a game by Capcom, is one of the most anticipated games of this year. This title is looking to give the player the most immersive role-playing experience. With the unbelievable success of Baldur’s Gate 3 last year, Capcom has some big shoes to fill, but apparently the studio is up to the task. The studio is working very hard to make this game very immersive for the players who really love the role-play genre. But some mechanics that are basic for every open-world game will not be part of Dragon’s Dogma 2.

This title will definitely not be for everyone, especially casual players. Things like the possibility of locking-on enemies are not in the game, and enemies in general are pretty big, so they will be hard to miss.

There will also be no quest markers; it will be all organic; you have to talk with the NPCs. Another thing that will surely make some players drop Dragon’s Dogma 2 entirely is the fact that there is no fast travel; you can use some teleportation rocks, but not much else. So if you have a quest very far, you can use a Mount to ride to the place, but in real time.

Capcom really wants you to feel immersed in the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Even the secondary missions will have a limited time to be completed, or the characters in the mission could die if you are not saved on time. Some NPCs could die, and you cannot be revived, so you will lose a very important mission.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22 for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The first title was launched in 2012 with very moderate success. This sequel could really change things for Capcom and this particular franchise. This game is aiming to be a real role-playing experience.

What are your thoughts about the realism in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
