TKO Group Holdings, Inc. is a premium sports and entertainment company, that owns and controls two of the most integral sports and entertainment organizations in the world, aka World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) (via TKO). After the merger of the WWE and UFC, TKO was born, marking the first time WWE wasn’t controlled primarily by the McMahon Family (via Variety).

With Dwayne Johnson becoming one of the board members, he is sure to be entrusted with certain roles and responsibilities for he is surely one of the most popular wrestlers emerging from WWE. Although details of the deals haven’t been revealed yet, Johnson remarked (via Variety),

“I’m very motivated to help continue to globally expand our TKO, WWE, and UFC businesses as the worldwide leaders in sports and entertainment — while proudly representing so many phenomenal athletes and performers who show up every day putting in the hard work…”

As well as a Board Member, Variety reports Johnson has also entered into an agreement involving service and merchandising with WWE. Expected to provide licensing, promotional as well as other services he has also assumed full ownership of his wrestling name The Rock which was previously owned by WWE.

Furthermore, TKO will be awarding the actor a stock award valuing $30 million as per the agreement and will allow him to collect any royalties originating from the sales of The Rock merchandise (via The Hollywood Reporter). As he takes on his new role, Johnson is also rumored to make a return in WrestleMania 40, his first proper wrestling match since 2013.
