The rumor further alleged that it could also be a “triple threat” as The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and, Roman Reigns have a showdown.

Now, the latest segment of Punk and Rhodes seems to indicate that Roman Reings and Dwayne Johnson’s storyline is out of the box right now. Having a rivalry in the WWE is quite different from having a rivalry in Hollywood. Johnson has experienced both firsthand as the actor and Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel had quite a feud. With Diesel wanting a traditional movie and Johnson wanting to create a Fast & Furious spin-off, The Rock revealed in an interview with EW that people had to evolve.

“When you have a franchise that is as successful as the Fast & Furious franchise, the goal, certainly my goal, was always to try and create a scenario where we have as much longevity as we possibly can have.”

He further continued,

“And in that spirit, you have to evolve and you have to spin off and you have to create new characters and new stories, especially when you’re coming off Fast 8, where you have an eight at the end of your title. [Laughs.]”

Well, the actor is quite disheartened after Black Adam failed to make it big at the global box office. Last seen in WWE Smackdown, Dwayne Johnson is currently associated with 11 upcoming projects in various stages of development while the people wait for the return of The People’s Champ in WWE.
