The 65th Grammy awards were held yesterday on 6th February 2023. It was especially terrific for singer Adele, who was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song Easy on me. Adele has released numerous records which earned her accolades and recognition. This Grammy season, Adele did not just receive recognition but also met her long-time idol, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. And the duo’s wholesome interaction went viral on Twitter.
Fans love The Rock and Adele’s wholesome interaction
Adele is a huge fan of The Rock just like all of us, however, she got to meet the Black Adam star, unlike us. Adele said in December 2021 that she would “really weep” if she ever met Johnson, whom she regarded as “wonderful.” Despite residing in Beverly Hills for several years, the 34-year-old singer had never met the former WWE star before. Adele, who did not attend the red carpet, was spotted seated in the first row. And Trevor Noah, the show’s host, quickly surprised the singer by introducing her to actor Dwayne Johnson.
He said,
“Tonight my job is just to be the host, the best host I can be. And to do that, I try and learn what everybody’s into. I try and know my guests. I know that Adele loves tea. Her Vegas show is phenomenal. And this is one of the strangest things I found out. The person that Adele has always wanted to meet but never have is Dwayne Johnson.
He continued,
Then I found out that he’s a huge fan of yours, too, And I don’t have Dwayne Johnson here tonight, but I do have someone called The Rock.”
The Rock stood in Infront of Adele and her jaw dropped, she was shocked, star-struck, and aghast, unable to process any of it. The singer soon got to other feet and hugged The Rock. Noah then left the two to get acquainted with each other.

This wholesome interaction between the two became viral on Twitter, and fans now want them to be cast together in a film. Some think that it is too soon for them to become friends, while others insist on the fact that Adele and The Rock will work well together.

Adele then offered a touching statement in which she dedicated the prize to her son, Angelo. Fighting back tears, the singer said,
“I wrote this first verse in the shower when I was choosing to change my son’s life, and he’s been nothing but humble and gracious and loving to me the whole time,”
Adele, like many Young Rock fans, is a big Dwayne Johnson fan, and she met him for the first time at the 2023 Grammys. The Someone Like You singer discussed Johnson in a 2022 interview with NikkieTutorials, explaining how her wrestling fixation evolved to her adoration.
“Someone I’ve never met, that I think I would actually cry, is The Rock, I was the biggest wrestling fan when I was younger! He sent me flowers because he and his wife couldn’t make it to my show, and literally, I nearly fell off my chair!”
This though, was before Adele met Johnson at the Grammys event when their relationship blossomed. It’s no wonder that Adele and The Rock would quickly connect as two powerful performers. Adele’s 2023 is already off to a terrific start, with a new Grammy and a great new buddy.
