“I’ve got a lot to tell you. It’s a bloody massive week for me. It is the Walking Dead finale on Sunday — can you believe that? Do we have any Walking Dead fans here? I’ve been obsessed with The Walking Dead for over a decade and on Sunday it is all coming to an end … and obviously, it’s opening night and the Grammys and the World Cup.”

The last week had already been an emotional rollercoaster for the award-winning singer with her bringing home seven Grammy nominations, so bidding farewell to her favorite show on Sunday following its finale naturally ended up becoming the cherry on the cake for Adele.

AMC’s The Walking Dead comes to an end after 12 years

First premiering in October 2010, The Walking Dead took off shortly after its first season and became renowned for its gory graphics and captivating apocalyptic plot with the show gaining a monumental fan following, which although is argued to have died down post the fifth season, is still very much prominent and more so with loyal fans. And if Adele is fangirling over the series, then surely it must be doing something right.

An adaptation of the comic book series of the same name with Robert Kirkman as the writer and Tony Moore along with Charlie Adlard serving as the artists, the TV show was first launched on AMC  Networks. Ever since, The Walking Dead has been the recipient of a number of accolades including multiple Saturn Awards and People’s Choice Awards for the best television series to name a few.
