Which award did MrBeast and Dwayne Johnson win?

The award that the two won was at the Streamy Awards 2023, which acknowledges and rewards the best content creation over the past year, and the duo won a Streamy for Collaboration. It’s worth noting that this was the same award Johnson had been nominated for twice in the past, in 2017 and then 2022, losing both times.

What is the story behind the Collaboration Award?

At the New York premiere of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, MrBeast was attending the event and challenged Johnson to a game of rock–paper–scissors. MrBeast said that if Johnson won, he would donate $100,000 to a charity of his choice, and an amazed Johnson happily accepted the challenge.

Their first round ended in a draw as both played “paper”, with MrBeast jokingly commenting that The Rock isn’t predictable. In the second round, both played “scissors” and it was a draw again. It was at this point that there was a brief break, with Johnson saying that he too would match the $100,000 that MrBeast offered and would give it to a charity as well. MrBeast, while not expecting that, was visibly overcome with joy and accepted that. MrBeast then went on to win the third and final round, as he chose “paper” and The Rock chose, well, “rock”. MrBeast then slyly claimed, “Surprised he didn’t pick rock every time.”

As the game ended, Johnson promised to follow through with the donation to charity, and MrBeast, unsurprisingly, said he would do the same as well. When asked by Johnson, he picked the Make–A–Wish Foundation, which grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.

The video ultimately led to The Rock and MrBeast winning the “Collaboration” award at Streamys 2023.
