Jack Black also shared that he had a lot of fun as Bethany. His character taught Karen Gillan’s character to flirt. Black said,

“I was teaching her how to flirt and how to work it, runway style. It was like a living organism kind of scene where some of it was on the page, but a lot was just happening in real-time.”

He played the role of a teenage girl in the body of one Professor Shelly Oberon. Black revealed how he prepared for his role,

“You watch a few episodes of Teen Wolf. And you also listen to some John Mayer. Then you really start to feel it.”

It was a massive challenge and risk for the director to give the role of a self-obsessed girl to comedian Jack Black, however, the chance was worth it, and the character was widely appreciated.
