Dwayne Johnson has been getting all the major spotlight in WWE. He is the ultimate main event, even rising above the Universal champion and his cousin Roman Reigns, in terms of reception. His WWE return has certainly shattered the dreams of many WWE superstars to have their slots in main events.

Johnson’s return is important on several grounds. He is not just a superstar but splendidly adheres to the authority figure as he became the board member of TKO Holdings. But in this mix, two female main-event stars might suffer as The Rock might steal WrestleMania 40, making it his own show.

Since the return of Dwayne Johnson and soon turning heal, WWE has shifted the prime focus on The Bloodline. Of course, it is hard to tell what The Rock is cooking, but his recent announcement asserted that he means business. Fans have predicted this for a long time, and they will have the taste of one of the greatest WWE tag team matches in history. Appearing on Friday Night SmackDown, Johnson announced a tag team match featuring Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns and himslef.

“How about this? Here’s the challenge, on night one of WrestleMania, the biggest tag team match in the history of the WWE,” Johnson said on his SmackDown promo (via FADE).

Fans predicted the match right after the beginning of the feud between The People’s Champion and Rhodes as The Rock slapped the American Nightmare ahead of the biggest WWE event. Rollins came for Rhodes’ rescue, and Johnson turned heal. It was the beginning of a great storyline, and as predicted, the ultimate tag team match was on the table. However, there might be an issue with slots that may destroy the dream matches of several other superstars.

Dwayne Johnson May Overshadow Women’s Division

How The Rock’s match would impact the female division would be a question with an obvious answer. The spotlight on The Rock is not going to be over anytime soon as The People’s Champ has been in the headline dominating most of the discussion. WWE has been pushing Rhea Ripley (who is a current member of Judgement Day), and recent changes to Bayley’s storyline turning babyface from her long-time heal have advocated potential slots at WrestleMania 40.

Bayley secured the 2024 Royal Rumble victory, and after her Damage CTRL members betrayed her, she is on a path to glory on her own. Bayley challenged her former Damage CTRL partner Iyo Sky’s WWE Women’s Championship, and she’s getting the deserved shot. Ripley has been a destructive force in the women’s division, she will go one-on-one with Becky Lynch defending her Women’s World Championship. The meteoric rise of Ripley has been fascinating, and her gimmick ‘Mami’ worked as she carries a fearsome goth whenever she appears.

Now, as The Rocked booked a tag team match on the first night of the WWE event, it will not be surprising that the match will be quite long and this might steal the spotlight from Ripley and Bayley. WWE must schedule the slots, keeping the women’s division interesting and vibrant, not letting other matches cast shadows on them.

The 40th annual two-night event, WrestleMania, will go on air on April 6 and 7, 2024, from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
