Ed Sheeran is one of the biggest singers in the entertainment industry. His influence in the world of music is commendable, to say the least. There have been songs of his that go trending worldwide and others that touch the heart in the most memorable manner possible. His albums chart records and his voice is quite literally music to one’s ears.
Although he is a big star, it is only human to fumble from time to time. His embarrassing experience came with his first time meeting Quentin Tarantino. The director is known for his craft, one that is filled with skill and talent. So for Sheeran to meet him was also a moment he could not quite forget. However, he wanted it to be good, not bad.
Ed Sheeran Fumbled Big Time
Ed Sheeran talked about his experience while meeting Quentin Tarantino for the first time. While speaking on the podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, he shared the embarrassing drunk tale that is a burned traumatic memory in his mind. He remembered the time at the GQ Awards when he and his friends got drunk. He was too shy and modest to build up any courage to meet Tarantino but his friend was not one to back down.
“Hey man, great, yeah, like your films. Thanks.”
When Sheeran refused to meet the director, his friend walked up to him and introduced the singer to the Kill Bill director. He was put on the spot at that very moment and found himself fumbling uncontrollably. His interaction with Tarantino had been one he could not forget because of how awkward it had been.
Conan O’Brien Lost His Only Chance
Conan O’Brien too shared his story on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast. His tale included the first and last time he ever met Bob Dylan. He stated that it had been during a concert of his and he was even honored to learn that the artist knew of him. However, the moment quickly came crumbling down.
“Suddenly I find myself in this room and I wasn’t prepared and there was just this sort of, people moved around and then I was just kind of pushed forward.” O’Brien continued, “He’s looking at me and he’s got that little mustache, and he went, ‘Hey, I know you from the TV’ and I thought, ‘Well at least I’m in now and I can start talking to Bob Dylan.'”
It was when another famous personality recognized him. Former Vice President of the United States of America, Al Gore, had interrupted their meeting, dragging him away for a conversation. By the time O’Brien was able to return, Dylan was long gone.
