The characters engage with the players so much that players often find themselves thinking of the characters and the story even when off their screens. The vast range of characters and the intriguing storyline give players enough content to think about. This has even led to the birth of many conspiracy theories surrounding the game.

Elden Ring Conspiracy Theory

One such theory has been surfacing on the internet lately. According to the latest theory, fans are of the opinion that Ranni, Radahn, and Rykard, who are believed to be the children of Radagon and Rennala, may not actually be the children of the latter.

Theory that Rennala’s children aren’t her own

According to a recent Reddit post by a user ‘AnEpicDoor’,

“Radagon gifted her the amber egg, rennala appears to make children with the amber egg, the amber egg looks like an orange human ovary. Rennalas children seem to have either the traits of radagon or Marika (mainly their hair colour, exception being rykard coz we can’t see it properly)”

The user further stated that the proposed theory merely represents their personal thoughts and may not be true. The user further called other members of the community to share their viewpoints and disprove this or add to it.

How viable is the new theory?

Naturally, several other players stepped in to share their thoughts on the theory. Fans were of the opinion that although the theory may be convincing to a certain extent, it also has a number of loopholes that cannot be overlooked.

A user wrote, “Sure they all have red hair, but they also have rennalas talent for magic.” Another user stated that although the theory of Rennalas gifting her eggs may be true, that does not make them less than her own kids.

“Perhaps she isn’t fertile anymore and the children are still hers. It would explain why Radagon left if he wanted more kids,” the user justified.

A user even went on to explain,

“In some theories, it’s thought that there are no live births except for perhaps demi-humans. Humans are born of the Erdtree or maybe reincarnated after Erdtree’s burial. Perhaps the demigods have something similar. Rennala seems to be human of some sort. Maybe not. But Radagon is definitely a God. Maybe it’s him who cannot reproduce by normal means and his amber egg is as close to a testicle as a God can get.”

There is yet another theory that states that since Marika is Messmer the Impaler’s mother, it naturally makes him at least a half-brother to Miquella and Malenia. These are the twin children of Marika and Radagon.

That being said, Elden Ring heavily hints that Marika and Radagon are the same person. Besides, Radagon is said to have three known children with Rennala, namely Rykard, Radahn, and Ranni. Notably, all these three have red hair just like Messmer.

Thus there is also a bleak chance of Messmer being a part of the Elden Ring‘s Golden Lineage. This is a dynasty that branched from Marika and her first consort, Godfrey, First Elden Lord.

There are countless such theories on the internet. However, it remains to be seen what exactly the developers actually have in store. For more clarity, players may have to wait till the release of the upcoming DLC, Shadows of the Erdtree.
