Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games of the year; according to some reports, the game from Arrowhead Game Studios has sold more than 8 million copies. In the first four days of release, the game sold 1 million copies. This is the first exclusive PlayStation Studios title to be released simultaneously on the PS5 and PC.
The community is very active and collaborative, but only with the players who really want to play as a team. A Reddit user talked about going solo like Elden Ring, and other users mocked him to oblivion.

One of the key features of Helldivers 2 is that it pretty much obligates the player to work with a squad; the game is almost unplayable without at least another companion. The idea of the game is that you play in teams to accomplish the mission and get to the extraction point once you finish your objective. The best parts of Helldivers 2 were when all the players of the game worked together to destroy one specific planet for a common objective. So the fans of Helldivers 2 really don’t like players that go solo into missions.
A Reddit user posted a screenshot about a Helldivers 2 player who talked about how he likes to go solo into missions, a similar experience to Elden Ring or Dark Souls. The post has since been locked, but as you can see in the screenshot below, it’s certainly a unique perspective to a game famed for being part of a team and a larger goal.
Admittedly, there will be plenty of people that liked the Elden Ring-esque approach to the idea, with it bringing a unique idea to the universe, but for obvious reasons, other players hated this kind of attitude. So they massively criticized this user for oblivion and for being against all that Helldivers 2 means. Players will not tolerate anyone who doesn’t want to be a team player in the missions.
Helldivers 2 fans really appreciate a good team player
Some of the players are really committed to taking an active part in fighting for democracy. The Reddit community of Helldivers 2 is very active and united, ready to take on some real missions in the name of democracy or, in some cases, unlock the Exo-Patriot mech suit. According to some rumors, there will be new vehicles in the game that will really facilitate the extraction of the game.
Helldivers 2 has just added flying Terminids to make the fight for democracy even harder. But in some leaks, a new Exo-Patriot suit will be available; this mech is bigger than the current mech. Several of these leaks have shown new stratagems that will help a lot in the missions.
