Emily Blunt is an actress renowned throughout the Hollywood industry. Starring in films both British and American, she has expressed her intriguing interest in her skill as an actor. With that, she also manages to absolutely mesmerize the audience with her powerful performances. So much so that airport officials found themselves gatekeeping the actress while questioning John Krasinski.
Seeing just how captivating she is an actress, it would be difficult to imagine her facing difficulty in front of anyone for whatever reason. However, it was surprisingly a Citizenship test that became her biggest enemy. To become a citizen of America, she fought tooth and nail in unexpected ways. Ways that humiliated her left and right because of the confusing questions that were asked to her.
Emily Blunt’s Questionable Citizenship Test
Emily Blunt opened up about her experience while taking the American Citizenship test. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, she expressed how awkward things got for her when the officials began questioning her personal record and background. She did try to jest here and there but that was not something her lawyer approved of.
“It is the hardest test I’ve ever had to take. I guarantee most Americans would have no idea how to answer any of these questions.” She continued, “Before the test on the American history and the constitution they do like a background check test where they ask me things like, ‘Are you a habitual drunkard?’ And I said, ‘Well I was last night.’ And my lawyer was in the room.”
The questions they asked her were not something she had expected in the slightest. They began asking her questions such as whether or not she was a habitual drunkard. To say that she was shocked and amused by those questions would be an understatement.
Things Only Got Weirder from Then On
While speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Emily Blunt further got candid about how absurd she found the entire situation to be. The questions they asked her were far too personal and she could not help but think who in their right mind would answer them honestly even if they had something to hide.
“Have I ever been a pr*stitute, that was another question.” She added, “It’s interesting that people thought that I think the people asking those questions, the officials think, ‘Well this will be the time that someone would come clean. When they’re trying to get citizenship they would definitely come clean.'”
For someone who is there to get their citizenship, exposing themselves and coming clean would easily sabotage something they worked so hard for. Needless to say, Blunt could not stop laughing.
