Eminem Cost Himself A Chance To Team Up With Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre In A Movie

Eminem certainly has humble beginnings as he started dirt-poor, living in a trailer park. His growth is certainly an inspiration to fans and peers alike all over the world. This was highlighted in the film 8 Mile, which was his acting debut. The film was somewhat based on his own life, which added to the overall film.

According to MovieWeb, Eminem was originally slated for a different movie prior to his debut in 8 Mile. The rap icon was initially considered for a role in Antoine Fuqua’s gritty 2000 crime drama Training Day. In the film, Denzel Washington takes on the role of Alonzo Harris, a corrupt narcotics officer who mentors the character Jake Hoyt, played by Ethan Hawke. While initial rumors suggested that Eminem was in the running for the role of Jake Hoyt, that wasn’t the case at all.

Eminem was approached to portray one of Alonzo’s criminal associates. This opportunity would have placed Eminem alongside his friends in the hip-hop world, including Snoop Dogg and his mentor, Dr. Dre. Unfortunately, Eminem did not ultimately take on the role for whatever reason, costing himself such a major opportunity. Regardless, what’s done is done and nothing more could have happened at that point.
