Attack on Titan bid farewell to its fandom on November 5, 2023. It was an emotional moment for the fandom since there will be no more waiting or excitement of a new season. The journey of a decade finally came to an end. Attack on Titan’s dark and enigmatic plot has always given rise to several fan theories. The finale did not forget to do what the franchise has been doing for the past decade.
The gruesome rumbling that took 80% of the human population with it left a harrowing fan theory that has been taking over the internet. For the most part, the fans were emotionally involved with Hajime Isayama’s magnum opus. After carefully watching it, fans may have found the whereabouts of Hange, and Eren might be the last person to have seen her.
Eren Jaeger Saw Hange’s Gruesome Fate
It is a common fact among Attack on Titan fans that Hange is the successor to Erwin Smith, and she chose to sacrifice her life by fighting the Titans during the Rumbling. Even though she died, there were no remains of her body. Most people will say that due to the Rumbling, there was nothing left of her body. But a recent fan theory claims otherwise.
The most deliberating hc i have is that these are Hange’s remains. pic.twitter.com/PZ8JtL6IaF

During the final moments of the Attack of Titan finale, Mikasa decapitated Eren, and the aftermath followed Armin’s memories, which showed a conversation inside the path between Eren and him. Eren showed Armin that the Rumbling had killed off 80% of the human population, and while doing so, he picked a few blood-soaked hair and teeth from the ground to show to Armin as a sample.
The fan theory stated that these were the remains of Hange after she was squashed at the feet of the Titans. They also pointed out that there was a sea of blood, and everything was destroyed. But Eren chose that spot as Hange’s remains were lying there. Even though it is a fan theory, it is quite horrifying to think about it.

More on Attack on Titan
Eren Jaeger was the mastermind behind the Rumbling. In a way, he saw Hange and company sacrificing their lives by fighting the Titans and also knew where they died. Hajime Isayama has a habit of foreshadowing things. So, when Eren mentioned Hange Zoë and Braus’ death and how he feels responsible for it, it might be directing that he was holding Hange’s remains.
Sasha Braus died much earlier in season 4, but Hange Zoë died much later in the series. While it remains a fan theory, it is one of the most intriguing yet harrowing discoveries from the Attack on Titan fandom. Eren was so focused on his ideals that he went as far as to destroy 80% of humankind, including a few of his close ones, just to make his remaining friends a hero.
Attack on Titan will always be remembered for its dark twists and plot development. It is amazing how even after premiering its finale almost a month ago, the fans are still trying to connect the dots.
