Spoilers for X-Men #30 ahead!
The MCU fans must remember High Evolutionary’s recent appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The villain who appeared in the comics for the first time in The Mighty Thor #134 took to the latest X-Men #30 to kill Wolverine’s daughter Laura Kinney. Like the Hugh Jackman superhero, Laura Kinney also had the healing factor, which was powerless before High Evolutionary.
Can High Evolutionary beat Wolverine to death?

For several years, the fans considered Wolverine supreme for his healing factor. But the latest X-Men #30 shows that another villain can beat Logan after Laura Kinney faced a brutal death at the hands of High Evolutionary. In the recent issue, when Wolverine’s daughter Talon, aka Laura Kinney, and Synch, aka Everett Thomas, track down Herbert Wyndham, Talon faces a brutal end.
Initially introduced as X-23, created through Wolverine’s DNA, Laura Kinney took the name of Talon in X-Men #19. However, when she, along with Synch, came face-to-face with High Evolutionary in the recent issue, the villain burned her to death after forcing her to impale herself. Like her father, she also had the healing factor, which proved powerless before Wyndham’s super technologies.
It is explained in the comics that Wolverine’s healing factor is generated from his bone marrow and circulated across his body through blood. However, it seems that if the Hugh Jackman superhero is burned to death, his healing factor is powerless. We have seen it several times in the past. This makes High Evolutionary another prominent Marvel name that can kill Logan.

Can High Evolutionary replace Kang in the MCU?
![Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/04032437/images-11-12.jpeg)
Critics and audiences appreciated Chukwudi Iwuji for his role as High Evolutionary in the MCU. Although ardent comic book fans noted that his character was nerfed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the villain was portrayed disturbingly and menacingly. After Jonathan Majors was embroiled in legal trouble for his actions, several fans pointed out that High Evolutionary could replace Kang in the MCU.
As Jonathan Majors is now officially fired from the MCU, there is a void in the Multiverse Saga. Many fans believe he can be introduced as a Kang variant in the MCU. Even the deleted scenes from GotG 3 revealed that the villain did not face his end. Now, it remains to be seen how Marvel deals with the Kang problem and if Iwuji proves to be a suitable replacement.
With Hugh Jackman also entering the MCU with Deadpool 3, it will be interesting to see if we can see him coming face-to-face against High Evolutionary on-screen. On the other hand, the fans will also be excited to see if the MCU innovatively portrays Logan’s healing factor.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 can be streamed on Disney+, while Deadpool 3 will be released on July 26, 2024.
