Invincible and The Boys are two indie superhero properties that have a very interesting take on the world of superheroes in their respective ways. With both having brilliant shows produced by Amazon, the question was bound to arise: Who among the two evil Supermen: Omni-Man and Homelander, is the strongest and would beat the other in a fight?

Robert Kirkman, the author of Invincible and an Executive Producer on the show, had a sit down with the producers of The Boys to put an end to the debate. No doubt; the answer was what everyone expected it to be. Both are Superman pastiches that are designed to deconstruct the way we think about heroes, but the gap between the two makes it infinitely easier to answer the question.

According to a post made by Culture Crave on Twitter, Kirkman and the producers of The Boys are in complete agreement as to who would win a fight between the two tyrants of power. However, the result is not simply based on a single meet-up. Several fan shows and sites, including the popular Rooster Teeth-produced web series Death Battlehave asked the same question and reached the same conclusion, with substantial amounts of evidence to support the results of the fight.

No doubt, both these tyrants are heavyweights in their own universe. Omni-Man can wipe out civilizations all by himself, and Homelander threatened to do the same on more than one occasion. However, when we compare the two, Omni-Man is severely leagues ahead of Homelander.

What makes Omni-Man the stronger of the two?

While this conclusion requires little elaboration, it is important to lay out the facts. Homelander is the strongest super in the world of The Boys. There is probably no one in the narrative who can take him in a head-on fight, and that’s where the problem lies. Homelander has never faced an opponent that he cannot beat, and the enemies he does face are relatively easy for him to take down.

When it comes to Omni-Man, he has been raised in a  warrior culture that has had him conquering planets for thousands of years.  Omni-Man’s people, the Viltrumites, put the theory of ‘might make right’ into practice, making sure that even the weakest of the surviving members of the race are vastly stronger than most species in the universe.

What also adds to Omni-Man’s victory is the sheer amount of power that the character holds. Traveling at speeds faster than light, being able to survive the vacuum of space, and having an insane healing factor, Omni-Man has more than his fair share of abilities that allow him to eclipse Homelander’s powers with incredible ease.
